I said I’d run away with you
Now my ears are ringing, You spoke, I can’t forget
Even though that just won’t do
How you responded, you through it like an epithet
You said you’d be a hobo too
Itch it, etch it, catch it, no room for a regret
We’re headed for a homeless coup
No rue, no lament, I’ll build it like an architect
If you wanna be with me
Know it won’t be easy
I’m up to here in debt
If you wanna be with me
I live life in poverty
No, it isn’t easy
I take what I can get
If you wanna be with me
I’ll run you through the dirt and mud
We got an open future; the land, the air, the sea
It’s too late, you can’t say no
We’ll move around, change it up, yeah that’s the key
Don’t tell me it was just a dud
Dumpster diving weekends, I think that you’ll agree
You can’t tell me to just “blow”
This is the best, it’s the happiest we’ll ever be
If you wanna be with me
Know it won’t be easy
I’m up to here in debt
If you wanna be with me
I live life in poverty
No, it isn’t easy
I take what I can get
If you wanna be with me
Hotlanta's dirge miners present heavy riff force, sure, but also hooks: drive-by melodies that stun and fade as the band, like Jaws, harkens toward blood and chomps folks. Snotty, smart vocals, occult trappings. Thankfully this is a punk (not "post-punk") affair, but I hear Gordons and Flesh Eaters as well as (Australian) X, The Eat or Filth.

Dead Cross, Retox, and Qui members dish out subversive hardcore with an indignant smirk; come for the riffs, stay for the synth experiments. Bandcamp New & Notable Mar 31, 2024
